I have to thank Jack Yablonski, an ex-cop, sergent on the Jersey City PD. I had him in a night school class about two years ago. I taught him and his wife basic Microsoft Office skills. At the end of the course, they gave me a nice thank-you card and a FOP card. I think it was Fraternal Order of Police.

That card came in handy a couple nights ago when I was laser-speed-trapped at 42 mph in a 25 zone. It is down hill at this point, and the cop, from a van rather than a squad car, got me from across Farrington Lake.

He let me go with a warning, but he kept the card. He made it a point to tell me the ticket would have cost me $100 and 4 points.
